Lexar JumpDrive M20 16GB Mobile USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Micron’s LexarJumpDrive M20 is our top choice because it provides a retractable micro USB 2.0 and a standard USB 3.0 male plug all-in-one, making it easier than ever to transfer files between micro USB compatible mobile devices and computers. It has an actual capacity of 14.8GB and has read Speed as 106.0 MBps, Write Speed as 15.3 MBps. The Lexar JumpDrive M20 may not be flashy in appearance with its plain white casing and blue plastic accents, but Micron makes up for this with helpful features. A nice size built-in key ring helps prevent loss, and its ability to work with phones, tablets and PCs is a huge plus.  The JumpDrive M20 read files at 106.0 MBps and wrote at 15.3 MBps, outperforming all the other USB flash drives on this list. The JumpDrive M20 has the most traditional-looking flash drive design of the dual-connector drives I've reviewed. With a white, plastic body and blue slider and end-cap, the JumpDrive M20 looks a little like a cigarette lighter, and measures 2.04 by 1 by 0.52 inches (HWD). On one end is a lanyard loop, so you can attach the drive to a keychain. The positioning will actually make it much easier to attach than either the Kingston Micro Duo or the Leef Bridge 3.0.
The drive comes preformatted to FAT32, so it will work with all PC operating systems (Windows, Mac OSX, etc.), while the microUSB connector lets you connect to tablets and smartphones. While this will come in handy for a few Windows tablets we've seen without full-size USB onboard, it's primarily meant for Android devices. The drive should work with any device running Android 4.1 or higher that has USB On The Go (OTG) enabled. While most devices come with some sort of file manager, Lexar recommends the ASTRO File Manager App (free via Google Play). The Lexar JumpDrive M20 Mobile 3.0 drive is available in three capacities: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The Lexar JumpDrive M20 Mobile USB 3.0 (32GB) is a great addition to the selection of mobile-friendly storage solutions on the market, especially for those looking for zippy performance over USB 3.0.

The M20 Mobile is a slider, with a micro-USB jack on one end and a full-size USB Type-A jack on the other. There’s a button on one side that allows the users to retract one of these jacks while pushing out the other. The button can also be set to hold both inside the casing, where they are fairly well protected. The ends aren’t covered though, raising the potential for lint to get inside the jacks, especially the USB-A one.

AMD Athlon II X2 260 Dual Core Processor

The AMD Athlon II X2 260 (P/N ADX2600CK23GM) is the fastest dual core processor in the Athlon II series. The AMD Athlon II series of processors is a very budget friendly series of processors. This processor sports the new Socket AM3 938-pin micro-PGA package so it will work in all Socket AM3 and AM2 motherboards with both DDR2/DDR3 memory solutions. The AMD Athlon II X2 260 features a nice and low TDP of only 65 Watts, which will make it easy to keep nice and cool. Enough techno-babble let’s take a look at how it performs.    Coming clocked at 3.2 GHz the AMD Athlon II X2 260 features two megabytes of L2 cache shared between two cores. This differs from the Athlon II X4 series as the X4’s share the two megabytes across all four cores in a 4×512 kilobytes pattern. Having more L2 cache per core will help in lightly threaded application. The AMD Athlon II X2 260 also features support for both DDR2 (up to 1,066 MT/s) and DDR3 (up to 1,333 MT/s). The Athlon II series is AMD’...

LG Chromebase

The Chromebase is simply a Chromebox built into a monitor. The 21.5-inch In-Plane Switching (IPS) display has a 1,920-by-1,080 resolution. Standard features include built-in Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and an Ethernet port. The machine is powered by a 1.4 GHz Intel Celeron 2955 U processor with 2 GB of DDR3L memory. The Chromebase can be used as a standalone monitor.              The stand comes in three pieces that need to be snapped together and secured with the included screws. There's a single USB 3.0 port and a headset jack on the front right edge of the system. Above the display is a built-in HD webcam, which captures video at 720p. Just below the display are buttons for adjusting the system's display brightness and audio volume, powering the syst...
